GBV to be stamped out of communities in the North West Region, Cameroon.
Last week was a busy one for WAG as Mobile safe space activities, awareness raising around GBV, Case identification, PSS and Case management continued by the organization to make sure GBV is stamped out of communities in the Northwest region. This time around, the three days activity targeted Jakiri in Bui division of the Northwest region .
25/7/24 was day one in Jakiri. Staff did awareness raising with CWF Women’s Group Presbyterian church Jakiri with the total number of christians present being 47 all women amongst which were elderly women and PWDs.
The next day, 26/7/24 WAG staff went out for mobile safe space activities including awareness raising, Case identification, PSS and opened up case files for case management in Ber at St. Charles Launga Catholic church Ber-Jakiri with 149 people in attendance. Still on that day, staff carried out awareness raising, at Bongzem Muslim Women’s Group Jakiri with 42 participants all women.
On the 27/7/24 the last day WAG staff stayed in Jakiri, they went out for awareness raising where they sensitized 57 CBC Jakiri women on the important need to combate GBV in their community. The three days activity was marked by excitement and positive feedback from community members as they expressed their gratitude to WAG for always coming through for them with impactful knowledge especially within this crisis.
